Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen were an iconic couple in 20th-century Danish design, renowned for their significant contribution to the Scandinavian modernist movement. Tove, born in 1906, and Edvard, born in 1901, met at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where they both studied architecture and design. They married in 1931 and quickly formed a creative partnership that would leave a lasting mark on the history of design.

The duo excelled in designing furniture, interiors, and functional objects, blending minimalist aesthetics with exceptional craftsmanship. Their design philosophy reflected a delicate balance between simplicity, functionality, and elegance. Among their iconic creations are armchairs, sofas, and tables, often crafted from high-quality wood and featuring organic details.

Their innovative approach earned them several accolades, including gold medals at the Milan Triennale. The Kindt-Larsens also collaborated closely with renowned manufacturers such as France & Søn, contributing to the international export of Danish design.
