Alf svensson

Alf Svensson was a Swedish furniture designer, born in 1929. He made a significant impact from the 1950s to the 1970s, creaIng storage furniture, tables, and seaIng for several influenIal furniture brands, notably for Fritz Hansen and DUX.

Like many of his Scandinavian peers, Alf Svensson uIlised tradiIonal and natural materials such as teak, rosewood, and leather, cra.ing furniture in a modern Scandinavian style characterised by elegant simplicity and funcIonality.

The 1953 Te-Ve lounge chair, as well as the modular Domus Chair designed for Dux, stand among Svensson's most renowned pieces. Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards for his achievements, including the presIgious Lunning Prize in 1968, dedicated to Scandinavian designers for their excepIonal contribuIons to industrial and arIsanal design.

His works are now housed in the collecIons of several museums, such as the NaIonal Museum in Stockholm and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
