Our seats are made of hides and furs. These are living materials that evolve over time. Hide is a naturally impermeable material which makes it very easy to clean.
Vacuuming your seat regularly. If stained, scrub the area with cold water only, without detergent or washing powder, you will risk changing the integrity of our products.
If your furniture has deteriorated, our workshop is able to respond to your request for your product repair and restoration. We invite you to contact our sales department.
Paying attention to where you place your seat will contribute to its longevity. It should be protected from damp and prolonged exposure to light.
Choose natural colours if you are exposed to strong sunlight, especially in the mountains, as they do not fade. If you opt for tinted skins, install anti-UV filters on the windows.
However, our tinted hides may lose colour saturation and fade slightly over time.
CARL MALMSTEN (1888 - 1972)
Born in Stockholm in 1888, Carl Malmsten studied at the city’s university, graduating in 1908. He then gained practical experience through apprenticeships in carpentry at the Nordic Museum and Skansen (1909-1910). From 1911 to 1916, he worked in various architectural firms.
In 1916, at the age of 28, Malmsten established his studio in Stockholm, working as a freelance furniture designer.
In 1917, he exhibited alongside renowned Swedish architect-designers such as Gunnar Asplund and Uno Åhrén at The Home Exhibition. Malmsten’s life goal was to create practical furniture that would enhance the user’s well-being and create a total harmony within the space occupied by the furniture.
Malmsten’s contribution to Swedish craftsmanship and education is still remembered today, as he wished for future generations to have the opportunity to nurture their innermost creative desires. His dedication and passion for Swedish design earned him, alongside Bruno Mathsson and Yngve Ekström, the title of one of the most renowned Swedish furniture designers.
