Get the Look – Vintage Mood

“To create a good chair.” That was the quest that guided Hans J. Wegner throughout his life.

Sonia and Thierry Linard, CEO of Norki and Vintage Sourcing Expert respectively, travel across Scandinavia every week in search of rare pieces. Among their treasures, the works of the prolific Hans J. Wegner hold a special place. And for good reason: this man, a true master of Danish design, created nearly 500 chairs, each reflecting his vision of comfort and aestheticism.
A STORY THAT BEGINS WITH A SKETCH
Before the creation of an armchair, a chair, or a sofa, everything began with sketches, drawings, and then the crafting of small models. For Wegner, it wasn’t simply about designing a piece of furniture but about imagining an experience—an experience of seating that perfectly embraces the body, the back, and sometimes the neck, offering unparalleled comfort.
“Many foreigners have asked me how we created the Danish style,” Wegner once said. “It’s a process of purification, of simplification: four legs, a seat, a backrest, and an armrest combined and reduced to their simplest expression.”
Minimalism, ergonomics, and organic elegance: these are the hallmarks of his work.
THE AP18S SOFA – THE SHARED CONFORT
Known for his chairs, Wegner was also exceptional in creating sofas. The AP18S is proof of this. It offers a space where comfort is experienced together, without compromising on design. A pure line, perfect balance, designed to last and endure through generations.
